Onikakushi-hen Patch
Apologies for taking so long, but here it is. This patch of Onikakushi-hen has Sonozaki Futago-tachi's translation on it, but When They Translate's edits made to it. Said changes are:

. Angel Mort is now referred to as a diner instead of a restaurant. .
. Rika says desu rather than yes, and nano desu is left in.
. Rena says adorable rather than keeyute.

You have a choice of two versions. One is the PC patch, which has the original graphics and music, the other is PS2 patch which has PS2 graphics, music and voices. I'd credit whoever made the latter, but I don't know who did, so I'll say it was some anom.

I hope you enjoy reading this and it holds you up while I try to finish Watanagashi-hen. :) If you notice anything in the patches, just message me and I can help as best as I can!

Edit: Upon feedback that there was something wrong with the patches, I've gone back and edited them some more. They be fine now. :)

Thanks!!!!!!! :)

But the TIPS are missing? When I try to open the menu for the unread TIPS, the program shuts down, it happens with both versions of the patch.

Also, the PC version has less WAV files than the original Sonozaki Futago-tachi demo, inside the WAV folder? I noticed it because I hear no sound when I click on Start, for example.

Hmmm...That's unusual. :/ I'll go back tonight through the scripts and fix the problems you listed. Could be that something's gone wrong with the Japanese characters when I saved the script.

I'll post it tonight or tomorrow. I want to make sure it's completely perfect this time! :)

Ok, I'll be looking forward to it! :)

There's another thing I noticed about the PS2 patch, at the moment of Mion's first appearance there are a few lines without voices.

And there are a few points later, during the class day 1, where it's Rena's line but I hear Mion's voice... but oh well, this probably doesn't depend on you, there may be a few inconsistencies between the PS2 Matsuri game and the NScripter PC novel? ;)

o_O
I found out another bug... it's not only the TIPS, the program literally shuts down at the beginning of day 10! There's no way to go on after that point. And it's like this in both wersions of the patch! T_T

Well, I hope it's not a difficult issue! Fight on, please! :)

Hey there!

I've gone through the scripts, changed them all over again and saved them this time so that the original Japanese isn't lost. :) I've updated the Mediafire links, so you can download the proper one. These SHOULD have no bugs whatsoever seeing as I didn't change anything other than the translation. If there is, just notify me and I'll try hardest to fix it!

And, in answer to your question, there might be a few bugs with the voices of the characters in the PS2 patch. I noticed this the first time as well, but, unfortunately I cannot do anything about it. An anon made the patch, not me. :/

However! There's currently this group called http://fr.lesanglotdescigalespatchhd.wikia.com/wiki/Le_Sanglot_des_Cigales_Festival
They're doing a French PS2 patch for the whole game, but will be using the twin's translation of Okikakushi-hen for the English patch, and my translations for the rest of the arc (once they're done), so all bugs you see in the PS2 patch will be fixed by then. ^^

Enjoy!

Alright! I had a look at both patches from the updated links and now they seem to work! I can read the entire arc and its TIPS and the program doesn't shut down anymore! I'll let you know if I find any other problems, but it seems to work just fine now! :)

Yep, I thought those bugs in the PS2 voices don't depend on you. Oh yes, I know about the french group, and I can't wait to see the whole project completed! :)

hey there.
you know you said about the PS2 patch...

Is it for the PS2 or is it another version for the PC?
massy90 on September 30th, 2013 12:46 pm (UTC)
Re: hey there.
It's a version made to be played on PC just like the other one, it just has graphics (sprites, backgrounds, CGs, videos), music, sound effects and voices from the Higurashi Matsuri game which was originally developed for the PS2 ;)

By the way, I have a question sum422! Will there be PS2 patches like this one for the following arcs too?

Patch Installation
Nice patch you got here but, How exactly do I install this? Do you need the MangaGamer Version or the Original Japanese Version? Japanese or English Locale?

Re: Patch Installation
I believe this comes with the demo version. (If not, it's easy to get.) It can be played on English Locale as well. And it is a really nice patch, it's translation is far superior to Mangagamer's and I personally can't wait for more. Of course I have to (and want to) otherwise the next arc will be nowhere near this level of quality, so please take as much time as needed.

PS2 graphics but original music
Is it possible to have PS2 music and voices but original music?

A few questions more
I just read the first arc that you have translated and I truly think that this translation is the best version of the game. But that left me with a few questions.

1) How is the translating of second chapter going?

2) Are there going to be ps2-type patch for other arcs?

3) And are all arcs separately? Because for example MangaGamers release have multiple arcs in the same "game".

Keep up the good work!

Hello and thank you so much for this patch!

I was wondering, is there any way to adjust the voice volume? The BGM sort of overpowers it at times. If not, that's fine, but I wanted to check with the source. :)
